Starting with the Truth - The Freedom of Facing Yourself

“Truth is both a gift and a wound. It heals, but it hurts first - especially when you’ve spent your life hiding.”
- Diary of a Troubled Preacher

For years, I treated truth like an intruder. I could preach holiness but avoid honesty. I wore the mask of ministry while my soul unraveled behind closed doors. It wasn’t until 2019, sitting in a therapist’s office, that I realized truth wasn’t my enemy; it was my deliverance.

That moment changed everything. I discovered that truth doesn’t condemn; it confronts. It doesn’t destroy; it delivers. When I stopped performing and started confessing, freedom began to take root.

Truth exposed not just my actions but my patterns, the cycles of lust, pride, and avoidance that had poisoned relationships and ministry alike. Facing it was painful, but it was also the beginning of healing.

Reflection for Readers

What truth about yourself have you been most afraid to face, and what has it cost you?
Write it down. Speak it aloud. Healing begins where honesty lives.

Closing Thought

Taking off the mask doesn’t ruin you - it restores you.
The masquerade ends where freedom begins.
